The Heat Is On!

It’s not just the weather heating up, with another huge week here at Big Sky already behind us and an equally huge weekend ahead.
It was the valley of the giants at Curtin University this week with the lovely Lolly and Candy Stilts performing on Tuesday and Stop and Silly Stilts performing later in the week. In Corporate Events this week Fliptease Circus and the Mermaids performed as did Hammer 9, fronted by the wonderful Libby Hammer and the Latin Music Trio.
Jay Weston performed a surprise Happy Birthday song for a very lucky lady and in other private events Michelle Smith, jazz harpist and The Sirens performed.
This weekend is going to be smoking! WA Mine Sites will host duo Nothing Too Serious and Sweet Sister Band. QLD Mine Sites will host the Acoustic Joose Duo, Whacky Wise Guys Trio and the Abby Skye Duo. Callan Durlik is performing at a corporate event and there are some very lucky private events being entertained by the likes of Fifi Fontaine from Sugar Blue Burlesque, the Amy Winehouse show from O Entertainment and ZAP Circus.

Remembrance Day on November 11th was commemorated across the country with bugler Stuart Ferguson played the haunting Last Post at QV1 that day.
Amongst other performances this week, St Ives hosted the suave Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboy’s alongside the stunning Jessie Gordon. The lovely Brenda Lee performed for the Curtin University Alumni Awards. Saturday saw Our Generation perform and the Printing Industries Awards at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom rocked to the retro trio The CoverGirls. The Hanlon Brothers performed at a WA Mine Site over the weekend and as the Festive Season heats up we’ll have even more wonderful events to share with you.

Giddy Up!

Another great week at Curtin this week with a veritable smorgasbord (why are smorgasbords always veritable?!) of performers strutting their talents.
As part of the Christmas Drive Appeal, the gorgeous 3-piece vocal group, The Christmas Wishes performed roving sets.
On Tuesday for the Melbourne Cup celebrations the “Jockey on Horseback” Stilts performed.
Wednesday hosted another musical roving trio – the stunning Glacius.
CC and the Elferly Brothers performed roving sets with acoustic guitar, banjolele and uke on Thursday.
Friday and Pride – who better than Famous Sharron? She was seen in all her glory at the Rally and Parade.
There were many Corporate events this week and more coming up this weekend.
The wonderful Amanda Canzurlo Duo performed at QV1 for the Melbourne Cup.
Lachy Reid and Chris Murphy performed, with Chris strutting his stuff solo at another event. Komodo Music DJ’s were performing this week as was the wonderful magician James Sleight at a community event. This weekend, the lovely and talented Ella E is performing at the Australian of the year Awards and Mickey Shaked is playing at a wedding.
