WINTER IS HERE BUT HOPEFULLY NOT TOO STAY

Well it’s official – Winter is here and has settled. It’s raining in the morning and very cold at night and of course that’s just going to make you want to stay in bed, resulting in you missing out on some great entertainment – BUT YOU MUST PERSEVERE, YOU MUST NOT GIVE INTO THE WINTER BLUES OTHERWISE YOU MAY MISS OUT ON SOME AMAZING BLUES (MUSIC)!

Although this is a quiet week for us here at Big Sky (everyone recovering from WA Day long weekend), we do believe this is the calm before the storm, with a few weeks coming up that are absolutely jam packed! It seems as if everyone is getting ready to celebrate End of the Financial Year, well the ones who are in the good books with the taxman will be celebrating!

And of course we have some great new entertainment on our books this week, Velvet Amps being one of them – Perth’s first all female cover band who is made up of some of our absolute favourite female artists. Made up of 5 – 6 sassy chicks, Velvet Amps are perfect for weddings, birthdays, corporate and even your mining events! A must to check out!

But like I said – quiet week this week, so a quiet post for you all! Remember to stay warm everyone and we hope to see you enjoying our performers at our events around the city!

FEBRUARY OR SHOULD WE SAY, FAB-RUARY!!

Can you believe that it’s already one month into the New Year? They do say that time flies when you’re having fun and believe us, we’ve been having fun – and we hope you have been too! We also hope that you’ve had a fantastic Christmas and New Years – it’s been that long we’ve spoke! Time flew by so fast during the silly season that we started to lose track of it! Over the fun filled silly season we had the opportunity to send some of our performers to some great events across the state! Ensuring that our hard working miners still got the chance to get into the holiday / festive spirit, we sent up some great acts such as Proud Mary, Andrew Winton and The Vans! Spending Christmas and New Years wouldn’t have sounded too bad for them!
Back down locally you may have caught Blue Beats in Mandurah, or maybe our very mystical Mermaids caught your eye if you got the chance to end the year of 2015 at Matisse Beach Club! Whatever you did over the holiday period we hope you enjoyed it as much we did, though sadly it’s time to admit that the silly season is over and it’s time to get back to work, even for us here in the entertainment industry!(who would have thought). Though just because the silly season is over doesn’t mean there’s no more room for fun – the mining sector and many of our corporate customers have shown us this over the past few weeks, putting on events for their employees across the month with some fun filled entertainment from us such as Eerie Ann, Midnight Rambler Trio, Adam Hall and Kinetica!
Whatever the event, corporate and even private – Big Sky Entertainment is your one stop shop for all your entertainment needs, whether you need music, circus, comedy, magic or even a saucy burlesque show; we’ve got it all – so give us a call or send us an email, we’re filling up fast with bookings for this year but there’s always room for more!

Incredible circus artist and street performer Aidan Bayliss performed this week at a community event and the WA Mine Sites have hosted O Entertainment’s Flash Mob, Laser Tag, The Moonshine Trust band and the Ragdoll Stilts.

Acoustica, Xmas Wishes, Gabriella’s Vibe, Amanda Canzurlo Trio, Lachy Reid MC, The Anatomically Incorrect Gentlemen, Matt Swift (Magician), The Mill Point Quartet, Toy Soldiers Stilts (Toodyay Chamber of Commerce Xmas Event) and Chris Franklin (comedian).

We’ve had the busiest start to summer we can remember, with so many of our Big Sky artists performing across the state and beyond. Some of these include Jarrad Cuff, performing his stunning German Wheel act to the delight of all this attending a corporate Christmas function last Monday night. Those swashbuckling Hollywood Heroes performed at Mazenod College during the week and the stunning voices of Helen Searle and Brendan Hanson lit up the faces of all those at the St John of God Xmas Carols Service on Wednesday, with that talented duo MC-ing the event as well. Mario the (Almost) Magnificent performed his incredible up close magic at a movie screening in Burswood for the Town of Victoria Park and the aptly named Hi-NRG performed at a corporate Christmas function. Last night saw Ricochet Circus and Don Smith travelling to Mullewa for the Shire’s Christmas street party and both Avalon Duo and C’est la Vie performing at separate corporate Christmas parties. Hula Hoop extraordinaire Lisa Lottie performed in Melbourne for yet another Festive season function and this is all before the weekend really kicked off! tonight will see Wesley Goodlet Jamboree Scouts performing at a corporate Christmas function, the dulcet tones of Anderson can be heard at the Sunday session at the Cockburn Power Boats Association Club and Michael Elezovich will be performing as the Naked Chef himself, Jamie Oliver for the Leederville Light UP Carnival in Sunday. Mines Sites across the country are not be outdone, with QLD band The Hanlon Brothers flying to WA to perform and electrifying Bon But Not Forgotten performing in QLD – what a start to Summer!
