We’ve got a real SPRING in our step!

Yesterday when I woke up, I noticed that I had a real SPRING in my step… Yes that’s right, Spring is here and I just made a dad joke.. It’s not even Fathers day yet either..

Dad jokes aside, we had a great week leading into this fabulous season..
During the week we had Big T play at the opening of a new basketball court in the Shire of Ashburton and his performance was raved about after!
On Wednesday, Black Swan Theatre Company had the opening of “Clinton The Musical” where one of our great trios, Box Party preformed at the pre AND post show events! The testimonials that came through after were fantastic!
Big T’s and Box Party’s reviews will be on their Big Sky profiles, we high recommend checking them out.

Zatanna, The Queen of Illusion brought some magic to Cinefest OZ & Lights of Berlin, took their lights up north!
The first weekend of Spring is looking just as good as the week leading into it with acts such as Matt Swift bringing his magic to a private event, Big T is heading up north whilst we have Chill Divine and Ali Bodycoat handling the corporate events!

If you happened to have caught or know you’ll catch any of these acts whilst they were out and about this week or over the weekend, we hope you enjoyed them and if you were interested in having them for one of your events (mining, corporate or private) feel free to call us on 9388 6762 or send us an enquiry through our website! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we will check back in with you next week!

Big Week For Big Sky!

It’s been a big week for everyone here at Big Sky Entertainment, with NAIDOC week happening in full swing we had Phillip Wally Stack Duo and the Bartlett Bros rocking out up north at various mine sites, where we also had the All Stars doing a 4th of July Rock Show!

The corporate events for this week had some great talent to set the vibes, with performances from Mario The (Almost) Magnificent, Chill Divine Duo, Robbie T, Bravo Singing Waiters and Nikki Dagostino! Also, a lot of private events with some great performers throughout the week too, including DJ Dyson and Matt Swift!
Although a lot of our clients are corporate companies, we have a lot of entertainment that caters for private events – whatever the demographic, style and size!

Also, excitingly – the production “A Perfect Specimen” opened on the 2nd! A Black Swan Theatre production that tells the tale of a travelling freak show and the true story of its star attraction, Julia Pastrana, the ape-woman and her husband / manager, Theo. This production features Igor Sas, a new talent on our website and also one of our company directors – Rebecca Davis! We also had the pleasure of having some of our favourite roving performers at the VIP Post Show! Tickets for this show are $30-$55 and it’s running until the 17th of July! We highly recommend catching this one before it goes – not to be biased ;-)

If you happened to have caught any of these acts whilst they were out and about this week or over the weekend, we hope you enjoyed them and if you were interested in having them for one of your events (mining, corporate or private) feel free to call us on 9388 6762 or send us an enquiry through our website! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we will check back in with you next week – remember to stay warm!!

Placid weeks

Good morning everyone, I trust that you are well – It’s Friday (Fri-YAY in my opinion) so of course you all are!
Hoping that everyone is staying warm in the cold but also enjoying those patches of Winter sun that we have been blessed with over the past few days.

It’s been another placid, yet fun week here with entertainment, having Mickey Shaked escaping the cold and heading up north to play (smart guy if you asked me).
We will also be having Little Belle play for Ernst and Young this weekend and Ella E will be at the Song Lounge!

We have also had the return of one our beloved showgirls – Fifi Fatale! She’s back in WA and back up on the website, so if you’re after some fantastic vintage burlesque at your next event be sure to look her up and book her before she’s off again!

Even though the entertainment side may seem quiet these past two weeks, of course that’s not the case for inside the office. With new acts being added to the website weekly and with a whole load of time and love being put into the Shakespeare 400 Festival that we have been curating! If you haven’t already checked out what we’re doing for the Shakespeare 400 Festival – be sure to jump onto the festival’s website! It’s going to be a fun filled year of Shakespearian events that will accommodate to a large array of demographics!

Much love from the team here at Big Sky Entertainment!

Jumping for June!

I don’t mean to alarm anyone here, but do you all know that it’s already June! Winter is here and 2017 is nearing. I am very envious of the people who are finding that this year is going slow because this year is going so fast for us here at Big Sky we’re starting to get dizzy!

It’s been a great (almost) half of the year though! We’ve had some great talent perform at some fantastic events and our books are just growing with more amazing artists from all over WA and even Australia! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out some of our new entertainment including Orquesta Yambeque, Bump ‘N’ Grind, For The Roses, The Adele and Amy Songbook, Dove & The Flockers, Just4Kix, Bravo Singing Waiters and so many more! The choices we now have are absolutely endless – there’s really nothing that we can’t offer to help you make your next event unforgettable!

Speaking of unforgettable events – what events have you attended this year where you’ve seen our entertainment?
I’m sure most of you will see a handful of our fantastic performers such as Andrew Winton, Electrochic, Cameo Rascale and Nat Ripepi as we all celebrate WA Day!

We’ve also been super busy with our new project – Shakespeare 400 Festival! If you haven’t checked that out already, make sure you do! We’ve got so much going on throughout the year for the worldwide celebration that we can assure you there will be something even the un shakespeare lover will enjoy!

If you happened to have caught any of our acts whilst they were out and about this week or over the weekend, we hope you enjoyed them and if you were interested in having them for one of your events (mining, corporate or private) feel free to call us on 9388 6762 or send us an enquiry through our website! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we will check back in with you next week!

Here we are, at the end of February! How did we get here so fast, where did the time go?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – time flies when you’re having a whole load of time and I can confidently say that our clients have been having a whole load of fun!

The hard workers of our mining sector have been enjoying Phoenix King and Ben Merito, whilst the hard workers of the corporate world have been having just as much fun with artists such as Box Party and one of our new beautiful talents Holli Scott, as well as Little Bird and the classic Anderson. The talented cellist, Laura McFadden eased everyone back into school at Curtain last week and this week they would have had some real fun with Slam Dunk Clowns, Flurotrash and Professor & Student on stilts! Curtain really know how to make studying that little bit easier, don’t ya think?

Of course our private clients have been having a blast too – entertainment such as Michael Elezovich and the gorgeous Cathrine Summers.

What are you all doing tonight? Are any of you heading to Bather’s Beach in Fremantle to see the wonderful Missy Higgins play? Well if you are – you’ll see one of our amazing young talents Ella E supporting her! How fantastic is that!

I don’t know about you but I’m ready to start marching into March! If it’s anything like February I know we’re going to have a good time!
I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll catch you again soon!

Big love from Big Sky Entertainment!

Happily busy…

It’s been one of the lovely weeks where our performers have been performing everywhere from theatre launches to morning melodies, mine sites to universities.
We have another gorgeous picture The Birds, the stunning name who performed at the launch of Black Swan State Theatre Company’s 2016 Season.
Jake Dennis and the Mint Jazz Band joined the O Entertainment tap dancers at the MPAC Morning Melodies, performing their popular “Crooners” show.
The Georgia Meredith Trio performed at Curtin Uni this week as did the gorgeously garish Flurotrash for the Giant Singalong event and the week was completed by the delightful “Emus” for English Student Orientation Day.
WA Mine sites were in for a treat with the Rebecca Scrivener Duo as well as the lovely talents of a face-painter and balloon twister, Premier Photo Booth and Bubbleology by Bubble Media.
The corporate arena will be very busy with acts such as Matt Dyktynski as MC / stand-up comedian and Komodo Music DJ at a sports awards night.
Anderson will no doubt be winning over audiences with his stunning solo guitar and Mario the (Almost) Magnificent will continue his reign of mischief and magical mayhem with his up-close roving magic.

Way to beat the winter chill…

This has been a week of such an eclectic mix of events and a magical mix of artists performing at them. The brilliantly costumed Swagman and Bushranger roving stilts duo performed at Curtin University this week, as did the wonderful Olman Walley I wrote about yesterday. The stunning Jessi Crane Stilts performed at the Carousel Shopping Centre Food Festival on Friday – again, costumes that have to be seen to be believed! Our very own, multi-talented Michelle Fornasier had her Opening Night in Black Swan State Theatre Company’s production of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit and take it from me, she is hilarious! As always, the Opening Night was a gorgeous affair and the wonderful Sarah Ramsay Trio complimented the evening beautifully with their fresh jazz repertoire.
The Michelle Smith Jazz Harp Trio are performing at a private event this week and are sure to delight our clients with their range of latin, blues, jazz and cocktail music – a heady mix!
And the incredible Box Party 6 piece band are heading to the mines this week, fronted by husband a wife duo from Aviida who are continuing to take Australia by storm on The Voice – more on this powerhouse duo later!

Winter Wonderland

Winter is almost upon us but you wouldn’t know it from the hive of activity in the Big Sky office – this has been a huge week and the weekend is heating up as well!
Curtin University has been celebrating Reconciliation Day and we’ve been proud to have Big Sky performers Tornina Torres and the Lizard Stilt walkers contribute their talents to this important event. The enigmatic Madame Zee and lovely Nat Ripepi have also performed at Curtin this week.
The Opening Night of Black Swan State Theatre Company’s “Glengarry Glen Ross” was a huge success and electric trio Retrofit were the perfect band to accompany the elevated mood.
WA Mine sites have had a treat with Petero Civoniceva visiting for the State of Origin event. Regarded as a true warhorse, Petero is one of the most respected men in Rugby League, with a medal in his name being awarded every year to the Australian Fijian league player of the Year.
Nat Ripepi, at the end of a busy week is also playing the WA sites and personal trainer extraordinaire Emma Leonard will be putting some lucky people through their paces!
Shakespeare Shenanigans continue their triumphant march throughout WA schools, performing at MLC and St Stephen’s College this week.
The stunning Kinetica performed their breathtaking aerial silks act at a corporate event this week.
One of Big Sky’s newest performers, Ella E performed at an open mic night at the Indie Bar on Friday – a truly stunning young performer.
There are private parties galore this weekend, with retro sensations, The CoverGirls performing at a 50th Birthday in Mandurah, the suave Rock Mobsters, also performing at a huge 50th Birthday event down south, Eddie Staszak and Roberto Balsamo “Echoes of Italy”, both playing at 50th Birthdays and the dynamic Rockafellas also strutting their stuff at yet another birthday – a lot of felicitations due for late autumn babies!Rock-Mobsters-•-Reg-Blue-•-890-x-368

May Days…

The commemorations for ANZAC Day continued this week with the lovely Darling Buds of May performing on Monday at the cultural centre. On Tuesday, Agelink Theatre Company’s production performed as past of Mandurah Performing Art Centre’s Morning Melodies program. “Don’t Forget Me Cobber”, written by well known actress and playwright Jenny Davis, starred some of Perth’s finest actors as well as 4 young, budding thespians, Oliver and Saskia Haluszkiewicz and Darcy and Imogen Stokes – ages 5 – 10! It was very well received with many a tear being shed amongst those in the audience; so many moving stories. Curtin University was regaled with the delights of Ricochet Circus, the very suave Jonny Taylor and the gorgeous Katherine John. Tonight, stunning trio Little Belle, featuring powerhouse Amanda Canzurlo are performing at a 50th birthday. Sunday will see the lovely Zalia and the intriguingly titled Magnus Danger Magnus roving the crowds as part of Mother’s Day Celebrations for the City of Subiaco. WA Mine sites have a tricky time ahead with the impending cyclone, resulting in the unfortunate cancellation of the stunning latin dancers and Adrian Wilson but one of the other sites was lucky enough to have the wondrous magician and illusionist, Robbie T Perform.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
