This isn’t the Spring weather we were expecting

We don’t know about you but this not the Spring weather that we have been waiting for! But none the less, a busy week still with entertainment all over the place!

We have had performances such as;
Explosive Dance performing a flash mob, Katherine John Duo and dancers performed 3 nights in a row for a retirement village, Shakespeare Shenanigans performed at a local high school and will also be performing tomorrow night for the Shire of Collie’s Arts Festival. Eddie Staszak performed at a corporate event, Robbie T and Mario the (Almost) Magnificent Magician performed roving close up magic at separate events, whilst Chinese stilts from Sensational Stilt Walking and a contortionist from Kinetica performed at Curtin Uni (Mich has sent images)
Cathrine Summers Trio are performing at a corporate event this weekend and Electrik Trio are performing at a WA mine site!

What a week right!

If you happened to have caught or know you’ll catch any of these acts whilst they were out and about this week or over the weekend, we hope you enjoyed them and if you were interested in having them for one of your events (mining, corporate or private) feel free to call us on 9388 6762 or send us an enquiry through our website www.bigskyentertainment.com.au! Warming up Winter

As the days get colder and colder, Big Sky is providing entertainment to warm up any gig that you throw at us!
This weekend is going to be a hot one with some of our fantastic acts such as Robbie T and Matt Swift doing close up roving magic and stage shows for corporate gigs, or other acts such as Aambiance Duo, Nikki Dagostino, Eddie Staszak and Oompah Band at an International food event this weekend! We also have some great acts such as Bravo Singing Waiters and Velvet Amps spicing up some private events!

Uni break is also over but that doesn’t mean that the fun ends for the students of Curtin University with some great acts roving around the grounds such as Glimmer Stilts, Blue and White Fairy and two very lanky Lizards! The start of their semester was also spiced up by Midnight Rambler Trio!

IT’S TAX TIME!

For some people, tax time is somewhat like Christmas and is up there with one of the most exciting times of the year, whilst others try their hardest to ignore it for as long as they can (until the tax man comes around and reminds them that they can’t do that anymore).. But along with all the mixed emotions of tax time, a busy week for us here at Big Sky also comes with it!

This week we’ve had some of our favourite corporate companies enjoy some amazing talent, celebrating that EOFY in style!
IKEA would have been serenaded after Eddie Staszak’s performance, the Shire of Irwin would have been blown away by Zap Circus’s amazing abilities and tonight Scott Vance will be taking the stage at an event held by Ron Farris Real Estate!

Up north in the beautiful winter weather, our hard working miners enjoyed two shows from Chris Franklin and then again from Renegade and James Morley & Amanda Canzurlo took the stage at one of our private events this week.

If you were one of the people in any of these crowds and you also ignore tax time – we hope this made it a lot easier for you to push it to the back of your mind!!

MAY-hem!

I swear it was only April yesterday, until I looked at my calendar and we seem to be well into May – I can smell christmas in the air and it’s scary! 2016 is moving too fast for my slow little feet – how about you guys?

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – time flies when you’re having fun, or when you’re just too busy to look at the date most days!

We’ve been having some real fun here at Big Sky over the past month, with Gala Events and Mine Sites, Corporate Functions and Private Parties!
It’s amazing where we just happen to pop up these days – don’t be surprised if you’ve ran into on of our fantastic performers in the past month!

I don’t know if you’ve heard but we are actually the brains behind the Shakespeare 400 Festival that is taking place in Perth right now – it’s why were all running around like a chook without a head, make sure you go check it out (https://www.facebook.com/shakespeare400festival/). This year is a big year for Shakespeare as it’s the 400th anniversary of his birth AND death so we are doing wonders around Perth to celebrate this!

Other than that, of course our usual entertainment entertaining!
We hope everyone else has had a good week / weekend!

Merry Christmas to all!

It’s been another busy week, filled to the brim with the festive spirit. In corporate events around the city we’ve had some wonderful artists perform. They’ve been joined by the wonderful accordionist Eddie Staszak, the Gypsy Jazz Duo, Amanda Canzurlo band, Little Belle, Edwards de Bozo and the 1950’s Roller Waitresses, to name a few.
It couldn’t be a lovelier time for parties and weddings and Box Party and the All Star Showstoppers have been there to add to the joy!
Incredible circus artist and street performer Aidan Bayliss performed this week at a community event and the WA Mine Sites have hosted O Entertainment’s Flash Mob, Laser Tag, The Moonshine Trust band and the Ragdoll Stilts.

I write this at the tail end of what has been a wonderful week of celebration and commemoration. NAIDOC Week has seen many extraordinary indigenous musicians, artists, chefs and sportsmen performing across the country and it’s been a honour for Big Sky to be involved. We have also had the wonderful Allysha Cleemans duo and Michelle Smith Harpist performing at a McDonald’s VIP function last Monday night and tonight will see the talented accordionist Eddie Staszak perform for a private event. On Tuesday, Olman Walley, son of Richard Walley performed at a WA Mine site VIP function- an accomplished musician and speaker. Clayton Donovan, an indigenous chef from QLD joined the mines to give a wonderful food demonstration and tasting on Friday and Saturday joined by Danny Marr, a member of Fitzroy Xpress band from Fitzroy Crossing.
On Saturday David Wirrpanda ran a footy clinic at the mine site and Troy Cook, also of band Fitzroy Xpress joined him. It’s been a memorable week for all.

One of the Komodo Music DJ’s played at Como Primary School’s major event on Friday and the wonderful Eddie Staszak took shopping delights to a whole new level performing at IKEA over the weekend. Winter is almost upon us but you wouldn’t know it from the hive of activity in the Big Sky office – this has been a huge week and the weekend is heating up as well!

The Opening Night of Black Swan State Theatre Company’s “Glengarry Glen Ross” was a huge success and electric trio Retrofit were the perfect band to accompany the elevated mood.
WA Mine sites have had a treat with Petero Civoniceva visiting for the State of Origin event. Regarded as a true warhorse, Petero is one of the most respected men in Rugby League, with a medal in his name being awarded every year to the Australian Fijian league player of the Year.

Rio Tinto Picnic Days at Tom Price and Paraburdoo – a community event being treated to the inimitable Murphy’s Lore and the riotously coloured Button and Stitch form Sensational Stilt-walking. The Rock Mobsters are on their way to the WA Mine sites, prepared to rock the house Saturday night and rule the house Sunday with their own brand of Rock Quiz on Sunday. The QLD Mine Site won’t go empty-handed with the fabulous Angels/Oils/Divinyls tribute show. Back in the private arena, Explosive Dance is performing at a 10th Birthday Party and the Blues Brothers will be shaking their tail-feathers at a private event. Let the good times roll!prev-3_(10)
