Half way through 2017!

Can everyone believe that it’s now HALF way through 2017?! It only feels like yesterday that I was talking about how it’s Christmas and 2016 just flew by!

They do say that time flies when you’re having fun, and with entertainment and events that happen around Perth each week – we have a lot of fun!

This week we’ve had some killer gigs and entertainment to match –
Up north they had Phoenix King Band and then Cam Dobie, doing two locations!

Black Swan State Theatre Company had their opening night of Endgame where Noah Shilkin would have wowed the crowd with his piano!

Exams are edging closer and closer but UWA students and facality got to take a load off this week and listen to some Kayla Jaye Duo at the UWA Tavern, whilst Curtin Uni students had some Professor & Student stilt walkers around the campus!

Total BS & Co. had some great entertainment with Jamiy & Manuel and Famous Sharron & Candy Girls are at the Mullewa Muster & Rodeo this weekend! Ye-Ha!

We hope everyone has a safe and happy long weekend, and we will catch you next week!

Giddy Up!

Another great week at Curtin this week with a veritable smorgasbord (why are smorgasbords always veritable?!) of performers strutting their talents.
As part of the Christmas Drive Appeal, the gorgeous 3-piece vocal group, The Christmas Wishes performed roving sets.
On Tuesday for the Melbourne Cup celebrations the “Jockey on Horseback” Stilts performed.
Wednesday hosted another musical roving trio – the stunning Glacius.
CC and the Elferly Brothers performed roving sets with acoustic guitar, banjolele and uke on Thursday.
Friday and Pride – who better than Famous Sharron? She was seen in all her glory at the Rally and Parade.
There were many Corporate events this week and more coming up this weekend.
The wonderful Amanda Canzurlo Duo performed at QV1 for the Melbourne Cup.
Lachy Reid and Chris Murphy performed, with Chris strutting his stuff solo at another event. Komodo Music DJ’s were performing this week as was the wonderful magician James Sleight at a community event. This weekend, the lovely and talented Ella E is performing at the Australian of the year Awards and Mickey Shaked is playing at a wedding.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Looking suspiciously but gloriously like the little Desi Turtle from last week, Curtin Uni was graced with the eye-poppingly vibrant Daffy Dill this week. She was joined by the hilarious Famous Sharron, the incredible roving feats of Ricochet Circus, the sultry sounds of Electrochic, Libby Hammer and her Pirate Stilts, more smooth sounds from the Little Bird Duo and Daffy Silly Dilly’s – more stilts with a floral theme!
In the corporate sector, Explosive Dance performed their wonderful Cheerleader routines and Matthew Hale, Comedy Hypnotist extraordinaire worked his magic at the Beverley Men’s Group.
At the WA Mine Sites this weekend, the wonderful Greg McNeill, one of WA’s most talented and loved actors, is hosting an Open Mic Night and will be joined by the incredible band Afrotropik fronted by the stunning Grace Barbe.

Curtin University was treated not only to some beautiful weather this week but also to the treats and talents of Mickey Shaked, Famous Sharron, Flurotrash and Monarchy Duo. Faux P!nk will be surprising one very lucky birthday boy and Carbon Taxi will be delighting an audience at a private function. Double Agent will be wowing Wheatstone this weekend, Shakespeare Shenanigans is commencing a 4 week metro tour this Monday and…Nikki Dagostino and Astrobat are, in fact, going to Kurra Minesite this weekend – apologies for the error from last week. It makes this week even more exciting…and this is only a taste.
