Stylishly feminine, The Swing Sisters are a bubbly trio that creates that special magic that only close harmony can bring.

They are a three-piece vocal group who sing 1940′ s styled vocal music like that of the Andrews Sisters. The Swing Sisters are well-trained, well-seasoned and well-presented performers with impeccable costumes and rehearsed to perfection. They perform to classy backing tracks and create a fun-filled atmosphere where people leave humming with smiles on their faces.

The trio consists of Zalia Joi, Samantha Hicks and Amy Ehlers.

Zalia has trained at Curtin and WAAPA as an actor, singer, musician and dancer. She has been involved in the entertainment industry all her life starting singing and dancing when she was 4years old.  Her experience ranges from singing blues- rock to intimate jazz soirees, classical choirs to  acoustic duo. She has performed throughout, Australia, Canada and the USA at various events for many different causes. She has sung in the tribute bands of David Bowie, Pink Floyd and currently with a Fleetwood Mac and Abba tribute show.

She has collaborated on many different original projects - performing live and recording. One of her highlights was recording with visiting Indian Sikhs on their Sacred Hymns Album.

She has written and toured her one woman show - Dating in a Disposable World (original songs and script) to Canada and has also written many children's shows including A Teddy Bears Picnic, an adaption of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, a magical potion show and many more.

Samantha Hicks could sing before she could talk and has been performing for friends and family since she was 5 years old. She is now singing professionally in Diamond Soul (a corporate soul band) and her duo Heart and Soul.

Growing up in a musical family where her Dad plays trumpet, her sister played piano and her grandfather was a singer/ songwriter and played acoustic guitar, following the same path seemed inevitable. There are many fond recollections of playing music together at many family gatherings and birthdays.

First completing a music scholarship at Churchlands Senior Highschool, Samantha is presently studying a Bachelor of Contemporary Music (majoring in Voice) at the WAAPA.  She loves to spread joy through music of all styles and when she is not singing with the Swing Sisters, she can be found belting out soul, R&B and singing with her duo in and around Perth..

Amy Ehlers also comes from a musical family and has been singing for as long as she can remember. Christmas was a big thing for her family and there are many wonderful memories of singing carols together and playing music at family gatherings. She began performing in front of her primary school then leading her high school with the National Anthem and and eventually sang he National Anthem at the Wild Cat’s Final.

Career highlights include performing with Chris Murphy, Guy Sebastian and in front of the Queen at CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting).

Amy is currently studying at WAAPA and has never looked back on her choice to make singing a career.

The Swing Sisters have performed for many audiences and most recently for the International Womens Day Inauguration and the “We Bring Joy” celebration. They are delighted to bring to you the wonders of close-harmony vocal music.
