Some Like It Yacht - Perth's Yacht Rock Tribute Band

Some Like It Yacht are a Perth-based tribute band dedicated to recreating the sophisticated and smooth pop sounds that ruled the FM airwaves in the 1970s and 80s known as Yacht Rock.

Yacht Rock represents a high water mark of late 20th century pop craftsmanship and is embodied in the undeniable groove of Hall & Oates; the luscious harmonies of The Doobie Brothers; the blue-eyed soul of Michael McDonald; the sophisticated lyricism of Steely Dan and the nonpareil studio mastery of Toto.

Skip forward to 2013 and we see the formation of SOME LIKE IT YACHT: a pack of musical journeymen (who amongst themselves have won multiple WAMI and WAM Song Of The Year awards) who connected over their love of the straight-to-Youtube mockumentary "Yacht Rock". After brushing off their polyester leisure suits and pressing their finest corduroy, they sail into the hearts of Perth music lovers while earning the head-nodding appreciation of their music-snob peers.

Ready to bring their love of this special music to the people, SOME LIKE IT YACHT are available for all types of events, be they located near a marina or not!

They had everyone up and out of their seats dancing and chanting for an encore when they’d finished! As far as we could tell from the feedback we collected at the event – the majority of the crowd actually attended the event just to see them.
