JAMES DE LEO is a comedian, presenter and author. He has a dry and understated approach which has impressed audiences on television programs such as The New Inventors, Fly TV, Sunday Arts and the award winning comedy Double The Fist.
His unique and endearing style has seen him interview tennis superstars like Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Elena Dementieva for ABC Sports and celebrity chefs like Antonio Carluccio, Rick Stein and Rachel Allen for the Lifestyle Food Channel.
James demonstrated his live comedy credentials performing stand-up internationally in London, Glasgow, Atlanta and Edinburgh and solo shows at the 2008 and 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festivals.
He holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from the Australian National University and is the presenter of choice for News and Current Affairs analysis with a difference, and appears regularly on AM and FM radio as the news correspondent for ABC local radio, 6PR, the top rating Mix 94.5 and 7.30 on ABC 1.
He is an avid writer and regularly contributes to news sites such as Wangle as well as CLEO and MENU magazines. He has just published the first book in an 8 book comedy series, 'Irrational Geographic's: Learn about', and in 2011 will complete a work of non-fiction, 'Namespeak: The Slang and Vernacular of the Vietnam War'.
