Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2010 with an Advanced Diploma in Music Production, Perth-based singer songwriter Adrian Wilson has continued to impress audiences across the country with his unique voice and catchy folk/acoustic pop songs. Although initially intending to sort after a career as a producer/ mixing engineer, song-writing and performing live was something that came naturally, and soon Adrian was performing all around WA in the pubs and clubs and making his mark in the Perth music scene.
With the release of his first EP “A New Direction” in 2010, Adrian set out to find like-minded musicians to perform with him live, and after recruiting 4 new band mates and feeling a noticeable spark between them, came the birth of his new band ‘Beside Lights’; ultimately putting Adrian’s solo career on hold.
Following the appearance on Australia’s Got Talent in 2012 and reaching the finals, their first self-titled EP went straight to #1 on the iTunes rock charts, and they were invited to support numerous acts such as The Vines, Adam Brand, Flight Facilities & 1927. By 2014 however, the band decided to pursue different paths and Adrian continued on as a solo artist and put focus on his YouTube channel, which is has recently surpassed 3.3million views.
