A regular feature at Ellington’s Jazz Club, Ali performs sold-out shows with the Ali Bodycoat Quintet. Ali’s relationship with the microphone goes even further as she performs at and hosts various events such as Style Aid and Chamber Jam.
A true testament to Ali’s electrifying talent and undeniable charm is the highly coveted residency she has held at the Subiaco Hotel for a staggering 15 years, performing with her trio every Wednesday night. Ali is also a regular performer at Jazz Fremantle.
As a musical performer Ali has starred in Yellow Glass Productions Last Days of Weimar, Rent, Rainy Days and Mondays – Songs of the Carpenters, Company and Hair. She also starred in Chicago as Roxy Hart at the Regal Theatre.
Chosen to support Marcia Hines in her 2008 concert at The Vines, Ali has also supported Vince Jones, Grace Knight and David Campbell and continues to work with some of Australia’s greatest jazz musicians.
In 2010, Ali created and performed two sold-out seasons of Minor Major Marlene, Downstairs at His Majesty’s Theatre and at the Ellington Jazz Club, and in 2011 Ali performed and created Franklin – The Music of Aretha Franklin, again to sold out seasons Downstairs at The Maj and The Ellington.
