HAMMER NINE, a four-horned combo fronted by the sass machine herself. Although this lineup does give more than a passing nod to the kind of sophisticated jazz tomfoolery that is Libby’s specialty, HAMMER NINE’S main mission is to get you up and shakin’ your booty with rare grooves and raw ol’ rhythm and blues.

Singing the classics of Dusty Springfield, Any Winehouse, Etta James, Nina Simone, Sugar Pie De Santo and Aretha Franklin, this licensed squad of musical hipsters derive their inspiration from the soulful sounds of the sixties but in addition to their many funky Motown melodies, listeners are also treated to some zany zydeco, rockin’ rumba and the meanest backbeat shuffle this side of a tertiary-level music qualification.

The four horns make it brassy, the four-piece rhythm section makes it funky and Libby makes it HAMMER NINE.
