THE ROUGH HOUSERS – Rockabilly music at its best!

Formed over nine beers and a mutual love of all things rockabilly; country licks, standing up, thumping bass, slapback vocals and songs about cars and girls, the three chaps who form the powerhouse backbone of erstwhile Perth pop rock band Murphy's Lore decided that their time was NOW.

The Rough Housers are a trio of rockabilly lovin’ dudes, bringing energetic fun to audiences with their own versions of great rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly classics from years gone by.  Formed by three members of popular local group Murphy’s Lore with a mutual love of rock ‘n’ roll, country and rockabilly, The Rough Housers set out to get people up & dancing.

Rockabilly music, if it needs to be pigeonhold (and it really doesn’t, however), is a country and rock and roll crossover that defined the late 50’s and brought stardom to Elvis , Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash amongst many others.

While the Stray Cats and other noted revival artists have added a distinctly punk ethos to the rockabilly epithet, no one can deny the raw energy and pure fun delivered by swingin’ rockabilly tunes.

With well-known Perth musicians Kieran Murphy on drums, Shaun Street on double bass and Jason Jay Eddy Smith on guitar, you are guaranteed an amazing night of revelry and fun toe tapping songs!
