‘Velvet Divan’ is a husband and wife acoustic duo consisting of Tim & Felicity Hibberd performing classic songs from the 60’s up to present day hits. They pride ourselves on being a high quality, professional act for any occasion. With over 40 years combined experience in Tasmania and the mainland Tim & Flic brings a wealth of musical knowledge and passion to every live performance.
Tim Hibberd (vocals and guitar) began his career in the mid 80’s playing drums in ‘Complex Minds,’ ‘Clown House’ and ‘Total Fire Band’ but soon found singing and guitar fulfilled him more as an artist. In the early 90’s he became the lead singer and guitarist for the band ’The Tin Men’.
In his extensive career he has played the following venues and events: Wrest Point Casino, Launceston Casino, Australian Wineries, Whitsunday Islands, The Tanks Art Centre, The MCG and various hotels, clubs & resorts thoughout Australia. He has also performed at hundreds of Weddings and private functions both corporate and personal as well as supporting bands such as The Angels, Mental As Anything and Boney M in recent years.
Felicity Hibberd (vocals), began her professional singing career in the late 80’s playing in various duo’s and trio’s based out of Launceston until motherhood and becoming a successful business owner took centre stage for awhile. Since forming a duo with Tim, they have performed at Festivale on a few occasions, the 2016 AFL Grand Final at the M.C.G as well as many private and corporate functions in and around Australia.
Tim & Flic’s soulful vocals are a stand out in this duo.
